Planning Commission
Meets on scheduled dates at 6 P.M. at City Hall
There are seven Planning Commissioners- one for each District. They are appointed by their elected City Council member. They are a decision-making body and consider the recommendations from the Design Review Committee.
The PC also will advise and recommend on the development and maintenance of general and specific plans. Review annual and five-year capital improvement programs. Advise and make recommendations on applications for zone changes, tract maps, subdivisions, variances, use permits, planned development permits, and related matters.
They also consider issues like parking and traffic and whether the project meets the form-based codes in the area of the city it is proposed.

Director's Hearings
4th Thursday of the month at 5:30 P.M.

Ms. Rachel Dimond is the Community Development Director. The Community Development Director makes decisions regarding major sign permits, alcohol use permits, facade changes, building enhancements, extensions on building permits and other administrative issues. Recently, the CDD has been ruling on larger development projects like 3-5 story apartment buildings which was not intended when Streamlining was approved by the City Council.

Historic Preservation Committee 
Meetings are scheduled as needed to review projects with a historical background.
The HPC reports to the Planning Commission. They advise and recommend concerning the designation of historic districts, landmarks, sites, natural configurations, buildings, structures and points of interest significant to the heritage and development of the City.
